Shuanteya Sherman (Teya) - -- WHERE -- - Dallas,Texas - -- WHAT -- - Full-time Artist, Full time Student (Master of Fine Art) Art Teacher -Dallas - -- HOW -- - I received my B.A in Studio Art at Southern Arkansas University Fall 1999 & All-Level Art Education Certification at Texas Christian University Fall 2004.I Have currently been teaching Art for 17 + years . However, I have been an Artist since the age of 10 and received several awards, recognition and scholarships for Visual Arts. My specialization area is Abstract Expressionist Modern Art and Single & Family Portrait Drawings & Painting in oils and watercolor. I am proud Owner/Artist of Creative Expressions Art Studio. A studio that was envisioned back when I was 17 years old in Arkansas. My mother, who was my inspiration and role model opened an Alterations shop where she custom designed dresses and altered clothes in 1994. On this day, I told her ' Momma I will open an Art studio one day where I will teach painting classes and sell my Art and I will call it Creative Expressions Art Studio'. She smiled and told me that yes I would. Fast forward to 2013 this vision and dream came true. A DREAM COME TRUE! It is always a pleasure to hear about and see my paintings hanging in someones home, office, studio or any personal space. It is my goal for Creative Expressions Art Studio to motivate and inspire other to use Art as a tool and skill to enhance their individual lives.
